I grew up in Virginia/North Carolina in a small rural town. I attended Law School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after completing degrees in Economics & Philosophy at UNC. l lived briefly in Washington, D.C. to work with NORML, before moving to Oregon to open my own law firm in 2007. I have worked with the issues surrounding Drug Policy for 15+ years and maintain a constant commitment and passion for reforming drug policy both here in the US and the World.
I am a NORML Legal Committee lifetime member and have previously served as the director of NC NORML as well as filed amicus motions on behalf of NORML in cases of interest.
I’ve been featured in High Times magazine, interviewed/appeared on/in NPR,CBC,CNN,CourtTV,WSJ, The Oregonian, and others for my work with NC NORML, NORML, OR NORML, PDX NORML, Law420, etc.
I also support the work of Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), Americans for Safe Access (ASA), Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP),
Marijuana Policy Project (MPP),National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), and New Approach Oregon (NAO).
